¡Hola clase! ¡Hoy es el cinco de mayo!/Today is Cinco de Mayo!  Can you count to cinco/5?
Cinco de mayo is celebration that remembers a famous battle between Mexico and France.  Mexico had a small army of peasants and France had a big, strong army.  Guess who won?  Mexico!  Today we celebrate Cinco de mayo with Mexican food (like tacos!), piƱatas, dancing and Mariachi bands.
Listen to this book about a mouse who joins in on a Cinco de mayo celebration.

Now, watch these kids dancing the Mexican hat dance.  Can you dance the Mexian hat dance too?
