Circles and Rectangles with cheese and crackers!

Today's math lesson was learning about the properties of circles and rectangles, so we explored with rectangular cheese and circular crackers! We looked for circles and rectangles in the classroom. Keep an eye out for them at home, too!

Apple Tasting!

Today, we taste tested 3 different types of apples! We had green apples (Granny Smith), yellow apples (Golden Delicious) and red apples (Gala). Students had to decide if they liked, didn't like, or felt 'so-so' about the flavor of each of the apples. We will use this to create a class graph about our favorite types of apples!

We also learned about a "red house with no doors and no windows with a star inside" - if you cut an apple sideways instead of up and down, you will find the star inside!

Testing out our Science Experiments!

How can we make our block of wood sink? Our little scientists engineered a plan to sink their wood block using rubber bands and paper lips to weigh them down. They tested how many paper clips it would take to sink them!
