Double the chapel, double the fun

Earlier this week, we had a double chapel! We had our regular Lenten chapel led by Mrs. McMahon and Mrs Puchalski, and later in the morning we had another chapel with Dr. Craig Oldenburg from Camp Concordia.

Mrs. McMahon’s chapel included a wonderful guide on how to pray following the ‘ACTS’ model - A is for Adoration, where you pray to share with God how wonderful He is. C is for confession, admitting your sins and asking for forgiveness. T is for thanks, giving thanks for all He has done for you. Finally, S is for supplication, the requests you make of God.

They then shared a fun science experiment which highlighted how our sins turn us scarlet, but Jesus’s forgiveness cleans us white as snow.

‘Doc’ Oldenburg from Camp Concordia was originally scheduled to come back in February, but had to cancel due to a snow day. He taught our students a new song, shared a cute puppet sketch about the Good Samaritan, shared a lesson about how Jesus sets us free, and shared all about Camp Concordia. My daughter, Ainsley, has attended Camp Concordia and had a wonderful time sharing outdoor activities and love for Jesus!

Guest Reader!

On Tuesday, Kindergarten had a special guest reader! Former Trinity student and Miss South Central’s Outstanding Teen, Kylie D’Andrea. I was Kylie’s language arts teacher when she was a 6th grader (my first year here at Trinity). Kylie read to our class, modeled her crown, and shared with the class what it was like to be a PRINCESS! They just loved it!
