We took time in chapel families to discuss and write down examples of when we’ve broken each of the 10 commandments. Mr. Petzold then took those sins and laid them on a large paper cross. On today’s announcements, he used red paint to represent the blood of Jesus. As students read verses from the Bible, he dripped the blood on our sins on the cross. These verses all showed how the blood of Jesus covers our sins and we are forgiven by His blood. It was an amazing visual that even our kindergarteners understood!

Chapel 3/5 and 3/6 - Forgiven
This week’s chapel was in our chapel family classrooms. We spent some time looking at the 10 Commandments and how there are many ways we sin that we don’t even realize. Peeking at your neighbor’s answer on their paper? You shall not steal. Grumble about going to church on Sunday morning? God has asked us to Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy. Even when we think we’re safe on the whole ‘don’t murder’ bit, we forget there is more to that commandment. Hurting or harming another person, or even not helping someone who is hurt, breaks the 5th commandment.
