CHALK and 3 Ways to Read a Book

Today we read the book “Chalk” by Bill Thomson. “Chalk” is a book with no words, told through pictures only. Our class learned that there are 3 ways we can read books!
1) read the words
2) read the pictures
3) retell a story we’ve already heard or read

After reading “Chalk,” which is about 3 kids who find a bag of chalk at a playground and discover through the joy of imagination that their pictures are coming to life, we created our own chalk pictures! We even made a chalk obstacle course!

  1. That looks like so much fun. What a great way to experience a book.
